The World of Mystrix Core Death System Description.
This is the default Death system on Thain Expanded. You do not need to explicitly choose this system, it will work for you from now on, unless you pull the switch behind you.
If you go through the door WITHOUT pulling the switch called "I choose Original Thain Death", the following will happen when your character's hit points reach 0, and not lower than -19:
1. Your character will fall unconscious and the screen will go black. Your character will become unable to be damaged. This will allow the monsters that were attacking you to back off, though some of them may hate your character and not back off unless there is another target nearby. Your screen will fade back in as you awake and your character will be free to run away as long as he or she does not attack the creatures that may still be around, and as long as a creature has not decided it hates your character.
2. If your character heals back up and tries again and your character's hit points reach 0, the same thing described in rule 1 above will happen to your character again.
3. If the creature was much more powerful than your character is and it hit you for enough damage to cause you to go below -19 hit points your character will die.
4. The third time your character's hit points reach 0 your character will start to bleed and call for assistance. Your character can bleed until -20 hit points and can be healed by other player's characters.
4a. If you stabalize your character will heal 1 hit point per round until your character stands up again. Monsters will not attack you and you will have a chance to run. To successfully stabalize you have to roll a 1 or a 2 on a ten sided dice, or be healed by a player or another source for 1 hit point or more. (example regeneration gear, healing kit, healing spell)
5. If your character's hit points reach -20, your character will die. You will be given the option to respawn and will be taken to the last place your character bound. You will drop a purse of gold with your name on it and can return to recover it along with your character's body. You will return in the form of a ghost and be unable to rest or earn XP from monster kills. Other players can assist you in recovering your character's purse and body, and they can even carry your character's body back to you. A wandering healer can also, for a price, return your body (but not your purse) to you.
6. If you are unable to get your character's body back, you can wait 15 minutes and you will return to your normal form and be able to earn XP from monster kills again.
7. If you die 3 times within 15 minutes you will dice with death for 1 point of constitution. You and Death will each roll a 20 sided dice, and if you lose Death will take a point of your character's constitution.
7a. In the future we will support ways to earn your constitution back.
You do not have to pull any levers to use this death system, it is the default death system on Thain Expanded.
Thank you for reading this and have fun.
