I made the journey to the black light on a new toon. I swore myself to Libila, and I was changed to the HotS kingdom. Soon after I was killed by some boars. I had a tent placed near by, but my only option for respawn location was "somewhere."
After selecting somewhere I realized I had been teleported to the North server. I was on the island my family developed on the home server. Fortunately, that cog you made was sitting there on the beach. I was able to get it to the water and sail back to the home server.
After I arrived back at the home server I noticed I was no longer part of HotS, but sent back to Freedom Isles.
While part of HotS I could not create a settlement, nor could I create a guard tower. After many hours of research I discovered this is due to the server being set as a home server with only one kingdom (Freedom Isles). We would really like to break from Freedom Isles and either form our own kingdom or join HotS. Maybe this is possible on the North server, but if I remember correctly, when I went to the shrine it was inactive (just didn't work), and there are no God missions. Also what I noticed about the North server was a lot of lag. It was incredibly laggy compared to the home server, where the lag is acceptable. At this point the North server is too laggy for me to experience and enjoy.
Despite these struggles I decided to set sail to the West server to test the lag, and explore a bit. I am excited to see more of the new map! However my game crashed at the server line, and now my character is stuck in-between the servers. This is not the first time this happened to my characters. In fact, I now have two characters stuck somewhere in between the servers. The west server appears to be too unreliable to use, if there is a chance the character traveling there will be unplayable for hours to days.
I suggest we allow for multiple kingdoms on the home server. If this requires PvP to be enabled, we are ok with it. We don't believe that PvP will have a negative impact on the server due the lower population. We can also require PvP activities to be consensual as a server rule.
This leads me to stealing. One of my friends could not pick up some miscellaneous items I dropped. We were not in or near a settlement, just out in the wild. She was told she would have to steal the items to pick them up, but then stealing would be bad for her karma and it is not allowed on this server. It was strange.
Players items are protected by the settlement guards from thieves; guards will attack anyone attempting to steal in a settlement.
